English: Petty Officer 3rd Class Steven Filgo and Seaman Alexander Berggren of Coast Guard Station Port Huron, Mich., retrieve an abandoned float during the unsanctioned marine event known as the Port Huron Float Down Aug. 16, 2015, at which more than 1,000 people gathered to float 7.5 miles down the St. Clair River between Port Huron and Marysville, Mich., on the border of the U.S. and Canada in inflatable and makeshift rafts. Each time an abandoned raft is spotted, emergency responders must work quickly to determine if it simply blew away or if there is a person who had no other floatation device and is in distress somewhere.
