HENDERSON'S PERFECTED
Salamander Lettuce
A SPLENDID SUMMER. VARIETY
Salamander is one of the few varieties that will head
well during hot weather. If the instructions given in our
pamphlet on "Lettuce Culture" are followed, success is
assured with Salamander. It will grow equally well as an
earlier crop, but is excelled by others for fall use. It
forms a good sized, compact head, creamy- white in color,
and has all the rich flavor of the "butter" Lettuce. (See cut.)
Price, 10c. pkt, 25c. oz., 65c. 1 4 ' lb., $2.00 lb.
"Last spring I ordered your Salamander Lettuce and must say it
was most satisfactory notwithstanding the hot, dry weather in June."
WM. C. KIDDER, Sea Girt, N. J.
HENDERSON'S
MIGNONETTE LETTUCE
TENDER, CRISP, VERY SOLID— A DELICIOUS FIRST EARLY
A little gem of a Lettuce, perfect in quality, with russet-green outer leaves.
It is wonderfully solid and emphatically superior in this respect, to any va-
riety grown. The plant is so small, that it may be planted very much closer
than any other sort, and is practically all head. It is extremely early and is
so hardy that it may be used to equal advantage for the latest crops. It is
used very largely for sowing in early August, for use during late fall and is
admirably adapted for all seasons, except during extreme heat, when others
grow better. Sown in September and carried over winter in cold frames, it gives
a valuable crop in April. (See cut.) Price, 10c. pkt., 25c. oz., 80c. .± lb., $2.50 lb.
"/ have tried a great many different kinds of Lettuce, making a specialty of producing grand
Lettuces, but your Mignonette Lettuce for crisp, cool, sweet taste, is the best I ever raised."
L. L. RHODES, Siroudsburg, Pa.

Public domain

This tag is designed for use where there may be a need to assert that any enhancements (eg brightness, contrast, colour-matching, sharpening) are in themselves insufficiently creative to generate a new copyright. It can be used where it is unknown whether any enhancements have been made, as well as when the enhancements are clear but insufficient. For known raw unenhanced scans you can use an appropriate {{PD-old}} tag instead. For usage, see Commons:When to use the PD-scan tag.

Note: This tag applies to scans and photocopies only. For photographs of public domain originals taken from afar, {{PD-Art}} may be applicable. See Commons:When to use the PD-Art tag.
