English: U.S. Army Maj. Paul Bollenbacher, the new Civil Affairs Department Leader for the Farah Provincial Reconstruction Team, welcomes Shah Mahmood, an engineer and the Farah Deputy Minister of Rural Reconstruction and Development, to the Civil-Military Operations Center on Forward Operating Base Farah, Afghanistan, March 6. Mahmood and two other RRD representatives came to FOB Farah in order to receive much needed surveying equipment to aid Afghan reconstruction efforts across the province. Recently, RRD representatives, including Mahmood, travelled across Farah province to explore new reconstruction projects which the ministry is going to facilitate. With support from Kabul and the Farah Provincial Government, the Farah Ministry of RRD works with the PRT to plan, survey, coordinate, and execute reconstruction projects throughout the province, including projects such as roads, schools, and medical clinics. |
