nelli, who studied with him under thesame early master, who later worked in thesame bottega when they set out for themselves,and who would fain have followed him into thereligious life, had he been so called. In the Certosa or Carthusian Monastery ofFlorence is a Crucifixion by Albertinelli, andhis Visitation in the Uffizi is a much copiedwork, and the circular Holy Family in the Pittirecalls Leonardo in coloring. Albertinelli was not so well grounded indrawing as was Bartolommeo, but he set towork to copy his friends manner, and suc-ceeded so well that when called upon to finishworks left undone by him, his part of the workcould not be distinguished from that of theother. Most of Bartolommeos paintings, besidesthose decorating the walls of San Marco, are inthe Pitti Gallery, where is his Resurrection ofour Lord, called Salvator Mundi, and also hisgreatest work done in conjunction with Alberti-nelli, The Marriage of St. Catherine, attrib-uted in the following poem to Albertinelli: 226
