Summary[edit]
DescriptionHicks Lane - geograph.org.uk - 1274955.jpg |
English: Hicks Lane Hicks lane leads out to London road (A15) Hicks yard was a brick making concern that became part of the London Brick Company empire. The parapets are for a bridge over the local rail line that facilitated trains loaded with fly ash from Midland power stations to empty at a terminal nearby. The ash was used to backfill many of the clay pits (Knot holes) for regeneration. |
