Deutsch: Eine der nach dem Hauptbahnhof wichtigsten Haltestellen und zentralen Knotenpunkte im Leipziger Straßenbahnnetz, er wird nach der Neutrassierung 1964 zum ersten Mal grundhaft umgebaut. Bisher bestanden hier vier Seitenbahnsteige, nach dem Vorbild der Haltestelle Hauptbahnhof werden es zukünftig zwei Außenbahnsteige und und ein Inselbahnsteig. Die LVB betreiben ein reines Einrichtungsnetz, damit ist die Anlage von Umsteigeknoten generell erschwert. Die Bahnsteiggleise sind inzwischen eingebaut und größtenteils eingedeckt, die Bahnsteigkanten sind gesetzt. Die Gleisabstände wurden nicht nur für den Einsatz von Wagen mit einer Breite von 2,40 m aufgeweitet, zusätzlich sollen auch Busse, in erster Linie des Nachtnetzes, verkehren können. Ob die feste Fahrbahn der Bauart Rheda City diese Belastung auf Dauer verträgt, muss die Zeit zeigen. Frühere Bauarten wie in der Jahnallee am Sportforum vertragen sie nur schlecht. |
