Deze foto staat bekend als stammend uit december 1945 of januari 1946. Koningin Wilhelmina verlaat paleis Lange Voorhout (voormalige woning van haar moeder, koningin Emma) In de periode sept. 1945 - maart 1946, woonde de vorstin op Scheveningen in de Nieuwe Parklaan, in één vd drie woningen onder één kap die zij daar huurde. Voor grotere ontvangsten was deze woning te klein en dan week zij uit naar paleis Lange Voorhout. Gezien de tijdsomstandigheden, kregen de gasten zeer slappe thee en één oud Maria-koekje. Het volk leefde nu eenmaal op de bon, de koningin "dus ook."
