inue the pasture did not however ap-proach or unite, so as to furnish the naked spaces with plants,because there were not any creeping-rooted grasses in the swardto throw out lateral roots and plants; and the naked stripsor furrows caused by the removal of the turf,.being very incon-venient to the feet in riding or walking over the ground, theyhad to be filled up with mould, and afterwards sown with grass-seeds.* * The author takes this opportunity to inform his readers, that having enteredinto the firm of Cor-mack and Son, Nursery and Set-dsmen, New Cross, London,and having made the actual raising of genuine seeds of all the esseniial permanentpasture grasses, clovers, and agricultural seeds of every description, oue of the ob-jects of his arrangements with that old established firm,—he therefore trusts, in ashort lime, to be able, from the New Cross Nursery, to supply the Agriculturalpublic with these seeds at a price sufficiently low to insure a demand for generalfarm practice. /

% • - (311) The Caramanian or Camblet Wool Sheep, The Ram, of which the annexe*) is an excellent representation,is on W. Shotwells farm, at Woodbridge, New Jersey, and wasimported in the Charles and Ellen, Capt. Gerry, which arrivedlast Spring from Smyrna; he is from Caramania, in Asia Minor.He was taken from on board a Turkish vessel bound to Constanti-nople, and presented to Capt Gerry by the Greek AdmiralTombazo, who assured him that he Was a native of the aboveplace,and that he would be a great acquisition to improve thebreeds in this country. Their wool is peculiarly adapted tothe manufacture of Camblets, and their flesh is esteemed ex-cellent and delicate. This animal has a broad tail, and thewool is of a darK brown or snuff colour ; the fleece, beforeshearing, dragged on the ground, (except under the belly,1) so ascompletely to hide the feet, and weighed twenty-one pounds;he is in prime condition and sound health, the size greater thanany of the largest sheep of our country.
