English: New Orleans 1882 - The Monster Whale. Advertisement for attraction presumably exhibiting an actual whale, at "the Whale Exposition Building" a the "Head of Canal Street" (bank of the Mississippi River).

Text: "THE MONSTER WHALE. - The Monarch Supreme of the Ocean - 60 feet Long! Weight 80,000 pounds! - Indorsed by the Press and Public as THE GREATEST NATURAL CURIOSITY ever exhibited. - Visited by Three Million People in the principal cities of America. - Will be on exhibition daily from 9 a. m. until 10 p. m., commencing Sunday, February 12, at the - Whale Exposition Building - (Head of Canal Street.) - Admission, 50 Cts., Children 25 Cts. "
