Summary

[edit]
Description

The keyed harp, or "Nyckelharpa", is the national instrument of Sweden. Sounds sort of like a violin but a bit more dry and harsh. It has resonance strings that swings in harmony with the melody strings and gives a similar effect to what the pedal does on a piano.

This one was built by my father many years ago. Been playing it on and off for about ten years.

The photo is a composition of multiple closeup shots on the different parts of the instrument. Its not a perfect fit, as you will notice by a closer look, the head is bent and you can see the overlap edges on some places. The plane of focus is a bit off on some parts as well.

Stitching was done with Hugin software on Linux which is open source and doesn't cost you a penny. The final image results in above 20 megapixel :-) This is what lead me into large format photography.
