Summary

English: Old Coach Road Viewed from what was once Bo Peep Gate, a site of a tollgate. This part of the route was in operation between 1752-1819 when a newer more direct route was opened along what is now the A27. Consequently, the Gage family who were the local landowners shut the route down in order to prevent others using it to avoid the tolls. It was restored in 2004-05 and is now a restricted byway. |
