Behind one of the tents a child of nine,Cassie by name, with line, dark eyes, is making a toiletbefore a bit of cracked mirror. She pastes down her wethair into a semblance of the water-waves of fashiona-ble society. When interrupted with a compliment onthe arrangement she affects displeasure, and tosses it allabroad again with a native coquetry.
