English: Louisiana National Guard Soldiers with the 256 Infantry Brigade Combat Team enjoyed a day of fishing with Operation Catch Fish, III, hosted by Joe Mercurio, Sheli Sanders, Mary Delgado and Gary Hain with special guests New Orleans Saints' Saintsations. OCF came to the Victory Base Complex in Baghdad, Iraq, April 28, to entertain and boost the morale of Troops in theatre in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Tiger Brigade Soldier Sgt. 1st Class Jason M. Mendel, non-commissioned officer in charge of an entry control point, from Abbeville, La., tries to relax with his cigar while reeling in his catch of lake debris. OCF hosted the Baghdad Fishing Derby for Soldiers in cooperation with the Baghdad Anglers Club to catch carp, barbell, asp and catfish in a lake on Camp Liberty. Prizes were awarded for the largest and puniest catch of the day, including Reactor watches, fishing poles and filled tackle boxes. Soldier is currently deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. |
