Das beeindruckend schöne Landschaftsportrait dürfte um 1960 in einem Abschnitt des Taubertaloberlaufes zwischen Creglingen und Bettwar* entstanden sein. Bei genauer Betrachtung (Zoom) zeigt sich, dass der mit zwei Pferden bespannte klassische Leiterwagen (mit Holzspeichenrädern) von zwei Landwirten mit frisch gemähtem Gras oder mit Heu beladen wurde. Im Vordergrund murmelt die noch schmale Tauber durch den sanft geschwungenen Taleinschnitt; die Hecken und der dichte Laubwald im Hintergrund weisen noch helle, d.h. hellgrüne Farbtöne auf, so dass das Bild im Zeitraum zw. Ende April und Mitte Mai entstanden sein dürfte. (*) Ausschnitt aus amtl. topogr. Karte 1:50.000, Ausgabe 1971 auf BayernAtlas.
