Porslin. Vit figurgrupp - Hypnos och Thanatos.
Description
Svenska: Figurerna, framställda som ynglingar stående nakna. Hypnos till vänster och Thanatos till höger, stödda mot varandra, blickande ned mot ett altare, som står mellan dem. Thanatos med en bild av PERSEFONE snett bakom sitt vänstra ben och en fackla i handen. Figurerna på rektangulär fotplatta. Följande upplysning lämnades år 1934 av professor Erich Hösel vid Meissenfabriken: "Die Gruppe I 77 ist von Jüchtzer im November-December 1788 in Dresden verfertigt worden, zweifellos nach einem Abguss der sogenannten Gruppe von Sand Ildefenso, Madrid, Museo del Prado, Opfer and die Todesgöttin, darstellend. Jüchtzer beschreibt die Gruppe merwürdigerweise die folgt: Castor mit Opferschale in der Hand (welche hier fehlt), Pollux mit 2 fackeln in den Händen, mit der rechten Hand im Begriff die Fackel auszudrücken, mit der linken die andere auszuschleudern. Daneben eine kleine Figur, Isis. Auch heute noch heisst die Gruppe in Meissen Castor und Pollux." Fabriken grundlagd 1710 av kung August II av Polen, kurfurste av Sachsen. Johann Friedrich Böttger som år 1709 uppfann det fältspatäkta europeiska porslinet, var fabrikens tekniske ledare från dess grundläggande till sin död 1719. Pris: 160 Mk. Se Toilettbok 17 nov 1902.
