Description
Svenska: Vas av omvänd utdragen päronform, mynningen utviken i form av tre bladliknande flika, bottnen insänkt. Dekor i relief samt i färger under glasyren i form av två till vänster efter varandra simmande räkor i relief med grågredelin kropp samt blågråa ben och känselspröt. Det vackraste exemplet i samlingen på svensk jugendkeramiken är vasen i porslin av Ruben Rising (1869-1929) från sent 1890-tal. Rising var anställd vid Rörstrand från 1890-talets mitt som keramiker, skulptör och målare. Vasen har en blekgrön underglasyrmålning och visar ett för tiden så älskat motiv - vattenväxter och havsdjur. En räka målad i blekt rosa och svart är, jämte blekgröna vasstrån mot blekblå fond, enda dekor. Vasstrånas vajande form är målade suggestivt så man får intrycket av att stråna också är i relief. Vasen avslutas upptill i tre flikar. Den närmast konkurrerade fabriken var Den Kongelige Porcelainsfabrik i Köpenhamn, som samtidigt excellerade i blekt underglasyrmåleri av detta slag. Fabrikens privilegium utfärdades 1729, dess verksamhet synes dock ha börjat redan 1726. Intill 1860-talet tillverkades endast fajans av olika slag, från 1857 även benäkta porslin samt från 1881 fältspatäkta porslin. Fabriken flyttades 1926 till Göteborg..
