| Description |
At Shap. The Royal Mail is one of the national agencies still in government hands.....for now. Postmen and postwomen are part of everyday life. Rural communities are served by postmen in vans, but in larger communities they often use bicycles to deliver the mail. Postmen are so part of everyday life that a famous childrens' programme called Postman Pat celebrated the postie and his or her important role in the British way of life. To appease arch feminists, I should point out that this bike was indeed used by a male mailist. |
