Description
English: Children from the al Khartoon elementary school in the Doura community display a hand-painted banner for American children from an elementary school in Nolanville, Texas, during a video teleconference Nov. 12 at Forward Operating Base Falcon in southern Baghdad's Rashid District. Soldiers from the 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Multi-National Division - Baghdad, coordinated with government and community leaders to host a video teleconference between the children. Maj. Gen. Jeffery Hammond, commander of the 4th Inf. Div., and MND-B, thanked the teachers, students and everyone responsible for making the event a success during his opening remarks. "This meeting represents a good will between these children," said Satter Muhammed, deputy general of the Karkh II School District. "Be assured that Iraqis' memory is deep, and we will never forget this."
