o compartment shaft sunk to a depth of1000 feet on the vein (incline on 69° to 450 feet, then flattens to 39degrees to the 1000 foot level). At 950 feet the shaft goes into thefootwall, and a short crosscut to cut the vein. Mine practically stopedout above the 800 level. Between 900 and 1000 levels two large blocksof ore have been developed, one east of shaft 200 feet long and 4 feetwide, other west of shaft 200 feet in length and 5 feet in width. Eastof shaft the vein is intersected by a series of north and south cross veinson breaks; at a number of places the vein has been faulted. On the900 level the vein is drifted on about 1000 feet. Ore treated in 100-tonconcentration mill, said to have averaged 6 to 7% W03. Concentratesaverage 60% W03. Phosphorus content averages .12% and must bereduced to .04%. Sulphur content must not be over 1%. To reducethe phosphorus content, portion of concentrates are treated in vat with SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY.. 371 IJLj X o ^ i < -J ~t9J.9/q tfJn)9JJ
