English: The second annual half marathon took place on March 28, 2009, at Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe near Mons, Belgium. The route for the race took the runners both inside and around the outside of SHAPE for a total distance of 21,097.5 meters, about 13.1 miles. The winners were Dustin Whitlow for the men's event and Vikki Sears for the women. A 3K children's event also took place prior to the main event which was won by Martin Sacha. Sergeant chief Delbee Florent, part of the SHAPE international band, helped the morale of the runners during the half marathon by raising their spirits with music. |
