Église de Saint-Pierre apôtre, Saint-Pierre-Église, Manche, Basse-Normandie, France English: Second stained glass window of the north aisle (counting from west to east), depicting the Quo vadis? scene where Saint Peter flees from persecution in Rome and is meeting the risen Jesus outside of the city. This window was manufactured by the stained glass workshop Carmel du Mans under the direction of Eugène Hucher (1814–1889) and his son Ferdinand Hucher (1850–1903) – see signature Fab du Carmel du Mans, Hucher et Fils (signatures in the lower left and lower right corner), and restored in 1990 – see signature restauré par G. Bourget maître verrier in a small stripe above the lower right corner. This window was financed by the parishioners in 1884, see the notice in the center of the bottom: Donné par les paroissiens 1884. |
