Summary
[edit]DescriptionSalsburgh Junction (North) - geograph.org.uk - 422168.jpg |
English: Salsburgh Junction (North) This north-facing junction is barely 100 metres from the south-facing pair (see other Geograph). Picture was taken from the top of the embankment at the end of the cutting, looking north. The right-hand fork continued north to reach the quarry at Lady Bell's Moss, via the north side of Roughrigg Reservoir - which can be seen in the distance. The left fork at this junction - you can see part of the severed embankment to the left of the tree - continued along the sourhern edge of the reservoir to reach Moffat Mills, and connect with the main line east of Airdrie at Clarkston. |
