| Description |
English: Southern Glastonbury from Wearyall Hill. Looking across the south of Glastonbury towards the Tor from the spine of Wearyall Hill (spelt in various ways, including Wirral Hill). An interesting drama is going on to the left of the picture - a group of cider-drinking youths are lurking around the Holy Thorn (which is a 1952-planted replacement for the "original" one destroyed by Roundheads in the Civil War), preventing a small group of wary modern-day pilgrims from getting to it. The tree is hung with clouties and other knick knacks. |
