Biwidd Hut(6591; inn, with 11 mattresses and 50 hay-bods). Starting early in themorning, wc ascend thence by a made path for IVJir., over grassy slopesand debris, tln-n along the N. edge of the nliindisnlp-Firn, to the ridgebetween the Grosstal aud Kleintal; and lastlv W. to the (4-4Vj hrs.)summit, which is usually free from snow in summer. The mountain-group which culminates in the Uri-Rotstock and the Brunnistock (9083)is almost jierpendicular on the E. and S. sides and is composed of giganticand fantastically contorted limestone rocks. The Rack-and-Pinion Railways whicli ascend from Vitznau andArth-Goldau are used by most visitors to this famous point of view.
