Biwidd Hut(6591; inn, with 11 mattresses and 50 hay-bods). Starting early in themorning, wc ascend thence by a made path for IVJir., over grassy slopesand debris, tln-n along the N. edge of the nliindisnlp-Firn, to the ridgebetween the Grosstal aud Kleintal; and lastlv W. to the (4-4Vj hrs.)summit, which is usually free from snow in summer. The mountain-group which culminates in the Uri-Rotstock and the Brunnistock (9083)is almost jierpendicular on the E. and S. sides and is composed of giganticand fantastically contorted limestone rocks. The *View is exceedinglyKrand: to the S. the chain of the Alps, from the Scntis, Rhsetikon, andBemina on the E. to the Diablerets on the W.; at our feet, 8000 below,the Lake of Lucerne and the whole of the Schlchen-Tal; to the N.E., T , .—•. i.
