Now, instead of glass screens which are universally em-ployed at present, I will proceed to describe how I have madeflexible screens, their use and oftentimes advantages over theglass screens, as follows: A screen is produced on an ordinary film negative in thecamera by photography. The object from which this photo-graph is made may be of great variety, for instance: white netlaces or veilings put on a black background, printed calicoes,or cretonnes, or other materials with different patterns in blackon white background, or vice versa, or in colors, or differentshaped wire screens, etc., in short anything that, when photo-graphed will produce a screen effect.
