Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The Biggar gap The wide shallow valley lying E-W between Biggar and Broughton is much bigger than expected, judging from the modest size of the present day Biggar Water here seen as a straight channel. It is thought to have been made by glacial action. The old trackbed of the dismantled Peebles - Biggar - Symington line is on the left side of the burn in this view from Helm End.
