eed.The entrance to the castle is by adrawbridge, which conducts to a finequadrangular court; and opposite toit is the principal entrance to themansion, which leads to the hall, or-namented with medallions and sur-rounded with a gallery. To the leftof this hall are some offices; to theright, an armory and bed-rooms.The principal staircase opens to thelibrary on the right, containing a finecollection of books, some very rare;over against this is the drawing-room, which more properly shouldbe termed a picture-gallery, fromthe number of portraits and otherworks of art which it contains. Thisis a noble room, extending nearly thewhole of one side of the quadrangle;and connected with it is a room nowused as a billiard-room, which leadsto an immense suite of rooms, em-bracing the state bed-rooms, somecovered with tapestry and otherswith paintings. Close by the castle is the church, which is dedicated to St. Michael. It is a Gothic structure, about 88 feet long and 20 wide, with a square I ?.
