Summary[edit]

Description
English: The Sankey Canal at Penkford Bridge Penkford Bridge was where one of the original wooden swing bridges was replaced by a fixed stone and brick bridge in 1934, following closure of this section of the canal in 1931. The overflow for the pound was obviously constructed to allow considerable volumes of excess water to flow out to the Sankey Brook to the left below.
