Summary[edit]

Description

Weeping
Lantana.
A NEW WEEPING PLANT
OF GREAT BEAUTY.
One of the grandest basket plants grown'
The plant has a most graceful drooping habit'
frows very rapidly and blooms continually
ummer and Winter, producing large clusters
of flowers of the most delicate lilac or rosy-pink,
loliage a beautiful dark green. A single plant on
August 1st, this p:\st Summer, had five hundred
and ninety clusters of flowers on it. The same
plant, December 1st, had three hundred and
fifty clusters of flowers on, which proves itone
of the most persistent bloomers, and does equal-
ly well Winter and Summer. I know of noth-
ing of recent introduction thatis aseasily grown
and gives so much pleasure and satisfaction as
this beautiful Lantsna. Price, strong plants,
15 cents each; two for 25 cents.
Royal Purple.
STROBILANTHES DYERIANUS.
A new and very beautiful foliage plant from
Singapore, which will become universally pop-
ular on account of the brilliant and exquisite
coloring of its leaves, the beauty of its fljwers
»nd its extraordinarily easy growth and useful-
ness as a decorative plant. It surpasses the
finest Coleus in exquisite coloring of the leaves,
besides which the long racemes of lovely violet
blossoms with which the plant is covered in
mid-winter greatly enhance its value and beau-
ty. Price, 10 cents each; three tor 25
cents.
The Chinese
Lantern Plant.
The introducer says: "A most magnificent plant fo- the
garden during Summer, or for pots both Summer and Win-
ter. Trea'edlikea Tomato it grows and fruits freely from
seed the first season, yet the plants are perennial, and may
be wintered in the cellar or grown in pits as window plants.
The p. ant produces numerous large, inflated husks, much the
shape of Chinese lanterns, at first a beautiful green color,
changing to a yellowish hue, and then to brightest scarlet,
and as they hang suspended among the green foliage they
present a most novel and strikingly beautiful appearance.
Price, 10 cents each; three for 25 cents.
Few house plants afford better satisfac-
tion than this. It requires to be keptrool,

1 1 Illli LfSC. should be taken in watering that no
water gets on the buds, as it causes them
to decay. In the Summer they can be turned out into a shady
border. The plants I offer are fine, and the colors will please.
I have them in white, pink, red, crimson, striped and blue.

Price, 10 cents each.

This tag is designed for use where there may be a need to assert that any enhancements (eg brightness, contrast, colour-matching, sharpening) are in themselves insufficiently creative to generate a new copyright. It can be used where it is unknown whether any enhancements have been made, as well as when the enhancements are clear but insufficient. For known raw unenhanced scans you can use an appropriate {{PD-old}} tag instead. For usage, see Commons:When to use the PD-scan tag.

Note: This tag applies to scans and photocopies only. For photographs of public domain originals taken from afar, {{PD-Art}} may be applicable. See Commons:When to use the PD-Art tag.
