Description
English: Sebastian Rich, a NBC broadcaster (right), captures footage of an Afghan Local Police recruit running during a physical training session in Kunar province, June 12. Rich and Jim Maceda, the senior international correspondent for NBC, produced a news story about the ALP. “We should see [the ALP program] evolve over the next couple of years,” Maceda said. “The upside is that they have a chance to create real security.” The ALP are Afghans from local villages who provide village security with support from Afghan National Security Forces.
