ith the secretary in regard to this, willyou not do so upon reading this and let him know what varieties you have andwhen they can be sent?. He will furnish you full directions for gathering andand packing and shipping the fruit, and a recognition of your contributionswill be made in some suitable way at the proper time. Of course fruit for thispurpose should be extra large of its kind, free from blemish and packed in away to secure its getting there in the best of condition. Dont think from thisthat you havent anything good enough! You have! By selecting the bestfruit from your trees any ope can do something towards this exhibit. If youhave crab apples, dont send them loose, but only on the branch where a goodm lay are clustered to^ethir miking a fitia show. Such a cluster will be verym.i;h appreciated. Wait can you do to halp in this splendid exhibit? It ii bjiag made as you know uadir the auspices of the Horticiltural Society, and all of the members must feel a common interest in it.

In spite of these unfavorable conditions, however, thatthe display should have been such as to satisfy the manage-ment and the throng of visitors and call forth no adverse com-ment or criticism, is certainly cause for congratulation. It was, ofcourse, anticipated that the fruit display would be a comparativelylight one, as exhibitors are exceedingly loth
