of MathewBrisco and Mary Ann (Farraw) Wheelwright, who in 1854 became residents of SaltLake City. To Mr. and Mrs. Todd have been born seventeen children, nine sons andeight daughters, of whom fourteen are yet living. Their son, Frank E., spent ninemonths in the service of the United States Army during the great World war. It was in the year of their marriage that Mr. Todd turned his attention to farm-ing in Hooper, where he resided for about forty-seven years, giving his time and energiesthroughout that period to general agricultural pursuits. He brought his fields undera higli state of cultivation and developed his interests to extensive proportions. Atlength he retired from active farming and removed to Ogden, where he now makes hishome in the enjoyment of well earned rest. Mr. Todd and his family are connectedwith the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and he is serving as a high priest.His son. UTAH SINCE STATEHOOD 727 was also ward teacher in Hooper for about a quarter of a century and in Ogden has beenward teacher for the past four years in the first ward. He was also for twelve yearsa director of irrigation at Hooper and he has at all times been keenly interested ineverything that has pertained to the welfare and progress of community and state.In the year 1901 he and his wife had a most pleasurable trip to Scotland, where theyvisited the scenes of his boyhood and there renewed many of the friendships of hisyouth. They also saw many points of interest in that country but returned well con-tent to make Utah their home. For more than fifty-five years Mr. Todd has resided inthis state and has witnessed its transformation as the years have passed on, bringingabout the present development and prosperity of the commonwealth.
