Summary[edit]

Description
English: View from the shoreline near Long Rib toward Forth Bridge. Stunning sunset view one midsummer's eve. The shore just east of South Queenferry is a superb vantage point to be able to take in the full splendour of one of Britain's greatest man-made creations.

"The Forth Bridge ...It is big and it is clever" .....surely not often can one hear this antithesis of that well-known phrase. The mighty cantilever structure across the Forth Estuary was built in the late 19th Century. One of the great industrial wonders of the world, if not one of the seven.

The bridge is currently undergoing some renovation work. It used to take a million men half an hour to paint it. Now I've heard there's just one man and he'll be there... well, have you heard the "contagious" joke?
