Description

PETER HENDERSON & CO., NEW YORK .
TOMATOES.
THE BEST FOR SOUTHERN
TRUCKERS.
ACME.
Early, of medium size, perfectly smooth, very solid and a great
bearer. Color crimson, with a purplish tinge. 5c. pkt. ; 2l)c oz •
50c. i lb.; $1.80 per lb.
LIVINGSTON'S BEAUTY
A variety sent out by the originator of the Acme, Paragon, Favor-
ite and Perfection Tomatoes, and is simply another one of that re-
markable series, resembling closer than any one of those mentioned
the Acme, being a little lighter tint of purple. It grows in clusters,
is a good yielder, continuing late in the seasou. It ripens with the
Acme and Perfection. It is a good sort for shipping, on account of
its soliditv and toughness of skin. .See cut.) 5e. per pkt.; 20c.
per oz. ; 60c. ± lb. ; $2.00 per lb.
PERFECTION.
The fruit is almost round, ripens clear up to the stem, is solid and
rich in flavor. The skin is both thin and tough, making it a good
shipper, while its clear, bright scarlet color makes it most attractive.
5c. per pkt. ; 20c. oz. ; 50c. ± lb, ; $1.80 per lb.
HENDERSON'S
A single plant of this Tomato was first observed in a field of the
" Perfection " variety, it being loaded with ripe fruit, while all the
rest of the crop was yet green. We have known of a field that was
full of ripe fruit, while another field containing the " Perfection "
and "Dwarf Champion" on the other side of the fence which were
sown and planted at the same time and otherwise treated exactly the
same, were still green. It is by far the earliest of all the large-kized
Tomatoes which combine good form, rich crimson color and solidity,
and it is certain to prove the leadiny market variety. The peculiar
Livingston s kfai'ty tomato
open habit of the plant, as
shown by the cut, is a distinc-
tive feature of this variety,and
is the reason why it is earlier
than any other variety, the sun
having a better chance to reach
andripenthe fruit thanin more
upright and compact varieties.
The engraving is taken from
a plant photographed in the
field. (See cut.) Price, 5c.
per pkt.; 20c. per oz.; 60c.
peri lb.; $2.25 per lb.

This tag is designed for use where there may be a need to assert that any enhancements (eg brightness, contrast, colour-matching, sharpening) are in themselves insufficiently creative to generate a new copyright. It can be used where it is unknown whether any enhancements have been made, as well as when the enhancements are clear but insufficient. For known raw unenhanced scans you can use an appropriate {{PD-old}} tag instead. For usage, see Commons:When to use the PD-scan tag.

Note: This tag applies to scans and photocopies only. For photographs of public domain originals taken from afar, {{PD-Art}} may be applicable. See Commons:When to use the PD-Art tag.
