English: hairless horse
日本語: ウシウマ
Deutsch: Uschi-Uma: Uschi heißt Rind oder Träger, Uma heißt Pferd. Damit bedeutet der Name dieser Rasse wörtlich übersetzt Last- oder Saumpferd oder Rinderpferd. Es handelt sich hierbei um eine vom Aussterben bedrohte Pferderasse, die zum Beispiel auf Tanegashima gezüchtet wurde. Tanegashima ist eine zur Präfektur Kagoshima gehörende Insel im Südwesten von Kyūshū, das zu Japan gehört. Bei dieser Rasse fehlen Deckhaar und Langhaar, so daß nur noch die feine, lockige Unterwolle vorhanden ist. Wenn es warm ist, fällt die Unterwolle oft auch noch aus, so daß die Tiere im Sommer oft fast nackt sind. Quelle: Japanische Wikipedia
