Hi, Prof. Selberherr personally provided me with this picture to be used for his Wikipedia entry. Please tell me, how to proceed to avoid deletion. Thank you.

removing the problem tag from the image was definitively wrong. But granted, you are new. Now about the image: the image is found on several websites, such as http://www.uninews.at/?p=152, but is nowhere under a free license. You wrote "Author=Siegfried Selberherr". It is somewhat unlikely that such an image is shot by the depicted person himself. But even if that would be the case, as you are not Prof. Selberherr you need to provide evidence of his permission and forward it to OTRS. In the more likely case that the image was shot by somebody else, be it a professional photographer or just a student of Prof. Selberherr, you need to provide the written permission of this photographer. In order to get the permission right from the beginning, go to Commons:E-Mail-Vorlagen, copy the boxed "Einverständniserklärung (Rechte-Inhaber)", enter the filename (or complete URL) and the license of choice, mail all to the photographer or legal rights holder and ask him/her to read it, to date and sign it and to mail it back to permissions-commons-de@wikimedia.org. In addition, in your first cmment you wrote "provided me with this picture to be used for his Wikipedia entry". We do not accept media released "for Wikipedia only". Images have to be free for any kind of use by anybody, at least in regard to copyright. Hi, danke fuer die schnelle Antwort. Ich habe mit Prof. Selberherr gesprochen, und er ist der Eigentuemer des Bildes (kein Fotograf oder sonsitges). Ich habe auch schon seine Email nach der Vorlage von http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Email_templates/Consent und werde diesen Text jetzt an permissions-commons-de@wikimedia.org weiterleiten. Meine Formulierung bezueglich "fuer Wikipedia" war ungluecklich, natuerlich ist eine oeffentliche Nutzung gestattet. Ich gehe davon aus, dass nach der Berarbeitung automatisch der Tag fuer ein etwaiges Entfernen des Bildes geloescht wird. --Billisbrother (talk) 10:02, 30 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Hallo Billisbrother, was heisst "Eigentuemer des Bildes"? Im Urheberrecht gibt es nur den Urheber. Wenn ich zu einem Photographen gehe und mir z.B. ein besseres Passphoto machen lasse, dann darf ich die vom Photographen gelieferten Prints nicht einscannen und online stellen, es sei denn, er hat dieses Recht vorher ausdrücklich eingeräumt. So etwas ist häufig Gegenstand von Urheberrechtsprozesse, die der Photograph meistens gewinnt. Daher, die klare Frage, hat Prof. Selberherr das Foto selbst aufgenommen oder nicht? --Túrelio (talk) 10:32, 30 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hallo Billisbrother, grundsätzlich ist {{No permission since}} nicht vom Hochlader zu entfernen. Dies erfolgt nur durch den OTRS-Mitarbeiter, der die zugehörige E-Mail bearbeitet. Wichtig ist, dass diese Bilder in entsprechenden administrativen Listen sind und nicht als unbearbeitete Fälle endlos lang ohne Genehmigung hier verbleiben. Ggf. kann gerne {{OTRS pending}} verwendet werden, um darauf hinzuweisen, dass bereits eine E-Mail an OTRS verschickt wurde. Im übrigen werden die angesprochenen Probleme im Rahmen des Tickets behandelt, um das ich mich zur Zeit kümmere. Grüße, AFBorchert (talk) 13:49, 2 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Remove obsolete photograph uploaded on 23 February 2015 from history

Hi, I don't get the mechansim involved for requesting an image deletion from the file history, so I ask: please remove the obsole photograph uploaded on 23 February 2015 (10:19) from the history, to be specific, this one https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/archive/6/61/20150224090111!Siegfried_Selberherr.jpg . This particular one has a rotation stored in the EXIF data, resulting in a rotated representation in some browsers (e.g. IE 11). An improved version has been uploaded on 24 February 2015, rendering the previous one obsolete. Thank you.
