Van de kunstzinnige aanleg van Anna Paulowna getuigt een aantal kunstwerken, bewaard gebleven in de Koninklijke Verzamelingen. Als gebruikelijk voor dochters uit vorstelijke families ving voor Anna al op jonge leeftijd het kunstonderwijs aan. Hier zien we de 11-jarige Anna met tekenmap en pen omgeven door twee van haar broers, de grootvorsten Nicolaas (tsaar van 1825-1855) en Michaël.
