All images that are uploaded must have a sensible name and, IMO, 7014 is not a sensible name. Also, when you claim that a photograph is public domain, you need to add why it is public domain, e.g. because of age or the name of the photographer who released it to PD. Images without this information may be deleted. Thuresson 17:24, 26 Apr 2005 (UTC)

A press release does not mean that the image is released into the public domain. --Baikonur 21:10, 26 Apr 2005 (UTC)
With regards to your comment to the deletion request: im most countries, especially in the US and in countries of the EU, all images and other works are copyrighted, no matter if this is stated explicitely or not. Please only upload images if you are sure that the creator has released them explicitely into the public domain or under a free license, and document this on the description page. Also, please have a look at Commons:Licensing. Thanks -- Duesentrieb 11:48, 28 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Did you manage to get a written permission from Greenpeace to license this as PD or GFDL? Thuresson 23:46, 3 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

No, they never replied; their loss. Time to delete it! Dan100 12:12, 6 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

How come you don't like my weather map replacements? Them's PRETTY! Whoof! 07:11, 25 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Admin[edit]

You are now an admin here on Commons. Congratulations! villy 16:28, 6 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Can you protect Commons:GNU Free Documentation License? It had been vandalized for 3 days when I found it and there's almost never any legitimate reason to edit it (just address changes). I just picked your name out of the list of admins. There should be a centralized place for such requests like en:Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard. If you want to talk to me about this, reply on en:User talk:Superm401. Thanks. Superm401 05:45, 29 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Commons-l subscription[edit]

Hello Dan100,

as per Commons talk:Administrators, I am asking all admins to subscribe to commons-l, a mailing list for Wikimedia Commons policy and project discussion. Since many admins are only on Commons infrequently, this is a good way to alert people about important happenings. The mailing list is nominally multilingual, but predominantly English.

If you are already subscribed to commons-l, I apologize for bothering you, and you are free to ignore this message. If you don't want to use your regular e-mail account, feel free to leave me a message, and I can send you a GMail invite. Traffic on the mailing list is relatively low, and we do not expect admins to read all messages to the list, but it would be nice if you could check on it at least every few weeks. Thanks for your time,--Eloquence 22:52, 4 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Admin news[edit]

Hello,

If you consent for statistics to be published about your actions as an administrator, please sign here: Commons:Administrator permission for statistics. (I expect that most people will not have a problem with it unless you are especially concerned with privacy.)

Also, please be aware that we now have a Commons:Administrators' noticeboard. Please put it on your watchlist, if you haven't already!

cheers, pfctdayelise (translate?) 05:33, 7 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Inactivity[edit]

Hi Dan,

In accordance with inactivity and Commons policy and inactivity, your admin access has been removed. Cary "Bastiqe" Bass demandez 22:06, 4 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair enough, I only gained it when we had a problem with people uploading obscene images and there were very few Commons admins around. Dan100 16:18, 5 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
