Thank you!

Thanks for supporting me in my successful RfB. And you very very much for all the kind words. They mean a lot coming from you. If you ever need anything, you know where to find me. :-) Cheers, Rocket000(talk) 21:36, 9 September 2008 (UTC)

You are welcome and I am most delighted by your appointment! Cheers, Slaunger (talk) 04:15, 10 September 2008 (UTC)

Count of open deletion requests?

Hi Kim. This posting made me think that it would be really useful if we could have some sort of live counter to show the number of open deletion requests. At the moment it's very hard to get a feel for how big the backlog is, as the number outstanding does not necessarily correlate well with the age of the oldest one. I know you worked on something similar for the VI project. Any chance that you could spend some time looking into this? --MichaelMaggs (talk) 14:08, 13 September 2008 (UTC)

Hmmm.. I'd like to help. I have had a short look at it, and at first sight it does not at all look as straightforward as for VIs. I would like to spend some more time studying the details and think about it. Maybe some adjustment of deletion templates is required to make it work as well as tweaks to the procedure. -- Slaunger (talk) 20:27, 13 September 2008 (UTC)
OK. Anything you can think of will be very welcome. --MichaelMaggs (talk) 17:29, 17 September 2008 (UTC)

Thanks

Ok, thanks for your kind notification. And thanks for your work in favor of VI , that's really need on commons ! Yug (talk) 17:07, 17 September 2008 (UTC)

My pleasure! -- Slaunger (talk) 07:36, 18 September 2008 (UTC)

Templates

To follow up on your discussion with GMaxwell, I'd be more than happy to drop the protection on a template you are actively working on to Semiprot. Just let me know. --MichaelMaggs (talk) 07:34, 18 September 2008 (UTC)

Thank you Michael. Actually, Gmaxwell has changed the protection to semi for the single template I had in mind, namely {{Assessments}} and I am currently in no need to edit other protected templates. (Fortunately, the VI templates are not protected - yet. The day they are, and access to edit protected content cannot be granted to experienced non-admin users, I am out of here...) Cheers, -- Slaunger (talk) 07:40, 18 September 2008 (UTC)

VI

Sorry about that. I thought you forgot to include that tag, but yeah, I should have read the procedure first. diego_pmc (talk) 15:50, 18 September 2008 (UTC)

Absolutely no problem. It is a quite large system with many procedures to get acquainted with. No harm done. Actually, I am surprised that it runs as smoothly as it does;-) -- Slaunger (talk) 19:47, 18 September 2008 (UTC)

Graph

I like the graph on your user page. How about making a template anyone can use, with the usernamer as a parameter? --MichaelMaggs (talk) 20:14, 18 September 2008 (UTC)

Thank you, I like it too;-) However, it requires that the user has categorized his images in suitable user sub-categories like you can see in Category:Files by User:Slaunger. If that is done, one could indeed make it as a template. One would not even have to specify the user name as that can be inferred from the page name the template is placed on. -- Slaunger (talk) 20:20, 18 September 2008 (UTC)

Commons:Picture of the Year/2008/Preparation

We are starting the discussion on POTY 2008. Would you like to join? -- Alvesgaspar (talk) 11:03, 20 September 2008 (UTC)

Thank you for your message, Alves. Reegrettably, I do not think I will have sufficient time to help out. I am focussing my limited spare time on reviewing VICs, template work and generally improving the organization of VIs. -- Slaunger (talk) 22:09, 20 September 2008 (UTC)

VI Closure Citroen C4

Hello, the last vote came later then 7 days after nomination (7 days and 2 hours ;-), and the previous vote was 5 days old. So I closed the nomination without counting the last (and void) vote. --Berthold Werner (talk) 14:51, 21 September 2008 (UTC)

There is no problem for me to accept the 48h rule, I didn't know it. I will respect it in future. My english is not so good to understand each rule without addtional explanation. --Berthold Werner (talk) 06:03, 22 September 2008 (UTC)

User statistics

Great idea of having a table with the user contributions' statistics. I copied it to my page. The trouble now is to tag the pictures with the corresponding categories. I did it by hand with the FP's and VI's but my QI are over 200! Is there any automatic way of inserting categories in the picture files? (BTW, you have 20 VI against my 18...). -- Alvesgaspar (talk) 23:33, 21 September 2008 (UTC)

Well, but I bow in the dust regarding FPs;-) I used the gallery function to go through all images and add the revelant user galleries. Hard, tedious work. Maybe using AWB could have saved me some work. I have been granted access to use that tool, but I forgot even thinking of using it (I have never tried using it yet). -- Slaunger (talk) 07:41, 22 September 2008 (UTC)
  • No need to eat the dust. Compared with me (a veteran with over two year's work in Commons), you are little more than a newbie. I noticed you used some kind of bot (HotCat) to quik-adding the categories. How is that done? -- Alvesgaspar (talk) 09:01, 22 September 2008 (UTC)
    • The veteran don't know Hotcat??? Phhzzz... Go to my preferences -> Gadgets and enable hotcat (press something + whatever to relaod). Now at the button of each image page just press the hyperlinked + and start typing the category. It does live look-up as you type. Very, very handy. I created my account 20 months ago. -- Slaunger (talk) 09:16, 22 September 2008 (UTC)

VI

Hi. You asked me what else did I have. I have one more candidate for VI, it's Image:Drill scheme.svg, but I can't find any suitable scope for that. What do you suggest? Kosiarz-PL 15:33, 27 September 2008 (UTC)

"Operating a pistol-grip drill" seems like the most spot-on scope for me. -- Slaunger (talk) 19:10, 28 September 2008 (UTC)
