Herzog Adolf ??? Figur Südansicht Figur Rathaus München

Hi, anybody out here who would be able to confirm the small figure on the left is a Gargoyle? If positive, it could be added to the Category:Gargoyles of the Neues Rathaus (München). The question is, why isn't it on this file? And also, wondering if this is really Herzog Adolf. Thank you for your time. Lotje (talk) 12:32, 12 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The main function of a gargoyle is to convey water away from the building. I do not see this for the little sculpture on the left. Regarding the second question: Telephotos tend to expose an effect where objects which are far from each other appear to be very close. Hence, while the small figure appears to look over the railing, it is apparently far more behind. Look at this image in full resolution. Thanks to a moderate aperture of f/5.6, we can see that the rail is very sharp in focus but the figure isn't. Hence, the figure is much behind the rail and consequently it is not surprising that we do not see that figure in the other photograph. I am not familiar with that building but I see no reason to distrust the inscription. Regards, AFBorchert (talk) 16:58, 12 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
