- Oppose Edges/corners are slightly unsharp. Now this is very impressive for f/1.8, but reproductions of paintings really need to be perfect to become FP, so that means optimal aperture using a tripod. If the museum doesn't allow tripods, then unfortunately, with some subjects it just isn't possible to make an FP. (By the way, I've noticed a weird speckled pattern in the blue background at the top, which seems to be a consistent trend across your photos of paintings. Could you share what NR and sharpening options you have applied?) -- King of ♥ ♦ ♣ ♠ 02:51, 26 December 2021 (UTC)
- I don't see these corners so bad, however I didn't use NR, at least voluntarily, and what do you mean by what sharpness profile? I don't have a profile I used the standard one, thanks.--Commonists 08:24, 26 December 2021 (UTC)
- Comment Maybe I can help here to explain the pattern mentioned by King of Hearts. @Commonists: Did you take this photo in the raw image format, i.e., do you have a Sony *.ARW file, or did you take it in JPEG format, i.e., do you have an *.JPG file from the camera? --Aristeas (talk) 11:16, 26 December 2021 (UTC)
- According to the EXIF, you have edited this photo in Photoshop. Can you please share all the various adjustments you have applied in Photoshop (e.g. did you use Smart Sharpen, Unsharp Mask, etc. and all the parameters you used)? I'm trying to figure out what is causing this issue. -- King of ♥ ♦ ♣ ♠ 21:30, 26 December 2021 (UTC)
- Comment This is just for the record now and of mere technical interest, of course, but I am still interested in the causes of that pattern, too. (Because it’s always good to learn what causes a certain problem, in order to avoid it and to help other users to avoid it.) According to Commonists’ last post on my talk page (a reaction to my question above), Commonists has not created this image by developing a raw image file, but by processing an out-of-camera JPEG file. My guess is that this pattern is the result of the combination of Sony’s default in-camera denoising and sharpening with some more sharpening in Photoshop. If I find some free time, I will take Commonists’ (allegedly?) original JPEG file and try which Photoshop sharpening leads to that result. --Aristeas (talk) 19:17, 27 December 2021 (UTC)
- Oppose Why would anyone wants to feature this image on Commons (or anywhere else fwiw), when we have a much better version? How can we trust an author who isn't even sure he's used NR "voluntarily" or not? - Benh (talk) 15:55, 26 December 2021 (UTC)
- Because for me it's not better Benh , because I didn't put the NR in voluntarily, is it really that complicated?--Commonists 17:04, 26 December 2021 (UTC)
- Oppose It's clearly better. -- Ikan Kekek (talk) 22:22, 26 December 2021 (UTC)
- Only your wrong opinion--Commonists 07:26, 27 December 2021 (UTC)
- Why "wrong"?? -- Basile Morin (talk) 09:17, 27 December 2021 (UTC)
- For me is wrong!! Why??--Commonists 09:31, 27 December 2021 (UTC)
- Comment One of the reasons I didn't think you were a block-evading banned user is that you were behaving much more politely than he did. I guess you couldn't keep that up for long. Your English is improved, though, so congratulations for that. -- Ikan Kekek (talk) 09:49, 27 December 2021 (UTC)
- Yes the beast is unleashed. And we also have actual evidences proving that he is a Sock. But I'll let the inquiry running. In the meantime, I strongly suggest no one supports his photos. Everything will be reverted anyways. - Benh (talk) 09:54, 27 December 2021 (UTC)
