| Description |
English: Tram and depot near Therapia Lane Taken from the foot crossing at the west end of Therapia Lane halt, this view shows unit no. 2540 on a New Addington to Wimbledon service approaching the tram depot in the background. Compare this new green-white-blue livery, also seen in 1188355 taken the previous week, with the red-white livery of earlier Tramlink photos.
This railway route is very historic, pre-dating the steam era by around 30 years. It was originally the Pitlake to Mitcham section of the Surrey Iron Railway (horse-drawn) opened in 1803, and later the Croydon to Merton branch of the London Brighton & South Coast Railway. |
