Description |
Four complete and one partial width of plain weave cotton, joined vertically with block printed borders and hand drawn and painted central design depicting Nadir Shah's army defeating Muhammad Shah's army in 1739, at the Battle of Karnal. Some of the soldiers depicted are standing or either on horseback or riding elephants. They are holding spears and swords and some of the soldiers have been beheaded. In the bottom left corner of the image is a cannon. |
