double citizenship

[edit]

Should we use #titleparts for people with multiple citizenships ? It may not be easy to get a grammatically correct output in all languages but I think it is better than nothing--Zolo (talk) 10:10, 24 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Do you have an example implementation? --Slomox (talk) 14:50, 24 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I was just thinking about it yesterday while running into many such combination while adding "nationality" to creator pages. It would be hard to do correctly in Polish. For example "French-English" would be "francusko-angielski" and "English-French" would be "angielsko-francuski". Similar think might be happening in other Slavic languages. Zolo, I assume you were thinking about altering this template so {{NationAndOccupation|FR/BG|m|painter}} would give " French-English painter". --Jarekt (talk) 15:09, 24 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Yes I as thinking about that.--Zolo (talk) 15:25, 24 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I implemented a version of the template supporting dual nationality in Template:NationAndOccupation/sandbox. See Template:NationAndOccupation/testcases and add more if needed. It works correctly for en and pl versions. I would appreciate it people knowing other languages can verify other languages, and check off the correct versions. Please verify capitalization as well. --Jarekt (talk) 19:00, 27 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

ru

[edit]

Method of dual citizenship for the Russian language should be the same as for the Polish language. I are update {{Nationality/ru}}, {{CountryAdjective/ru}} and main template. Russian language is checked. --Kaganer (talk) 19:37, 30 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Syntax

[edit]

I have used {{Conj}} for French version, it should be easier if some languages don't put the "and" at the same place as English

It also simplifies the code --Jarekt (talk) 04:17, 29 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Nation

[edit]

Actually, wouldn't it be simpler to have the dualy nationality option at {{Nationality}} ? --Zolo (talk) 15:12, 28 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It could have been done there, but {{Nationality}} would need an extra subtemplate to handle it. --Jarekt (talk) 04:19, 29 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Fallback

[edit]

I modified Template:NationAndOccupation/default to use {{LangSwitch}} and {{Fallback}} to add Fallback capabilities to the template. --Jarekt (talk) 02:19, 3 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I recently rewrote this template using LUA. The new code allows much simpler implementation of this template. {{NationAndOccupation}} is mostly used by {{Creator}} and Module:Creator. Module:NationAndOccupation will greatly simplify the case when all the inputs to {{NationAndOccupation}} come from Wikidata. In case there are any issues with the new code please let me know. --Jarekt (talk) 19:54, 14 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
