{{Editprotected}} Please edit text-align:left; to text-align:start; at the first line. It is needed for RTL wikis where left not means start of text. Thanks −ebraminiotalk 23:54, 20 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Difference in word/characters[edit]

Hi, I like the idea of the new additions to the template, but must say that I find it quite confusing to keep track of, if only a letter or two are different it works, but anything more and it turns to garble. Is there a way to show the same info in a more usable way? ie if the top one was the original and the lower the new names (aligned to run evenly left to right) and letters/words deleted are highlighted on the top line in yellow; letters/words added are highlighted on the bottom line in blue. Thoughts? Liamdavies (talk) 15:06, 6 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

This would be more the Wiki-Diff-Style, indeed. Whether you like it or not, often depends on how you learned reading diffs. -- Rillke(q?) 15:20, 6 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I agree that to some extent it comes down to what one is used to, and how one learned, but the examples seen at Template:Rename highlight what I'm saying. But I am in principle very supportive, this will make some changes much easier as it is sometimes hard at a glance to notice that one extra or missing letter. Liamdavies (talk) 15:28, 6 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I changed it to wiki style diff, I think it looks better now, right? :) −ebraminiotalk 09:48, 7 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Amazing! This is worth a  Support at your RfA. Thank you! -- Rillke(q?) 10:17, 7 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Awesome, this is fantastic and will make filemoving easier. Thank you so much. Liamdavies (talk) 13:39, 7 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

{{Editprotected}} Please change Difference in words: and Difference in characters: to {{{diffInWords|text as it was before}}} and {{{diffInChars|as so}}} to enable i18n. Thanks, --Tacsipacsi (talk) 18:05, 21 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Also please unprotect {{Rename/i18n}} since it isn’t transcluded on any pages and a translation admin is required to appear its any change on other pages. --Tacsipacsi (talk) 18:14, 21 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
i18n is used in the interface. --Steinsplitter (talk) 11:12, 25 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Categories[edit]

The yesterday edit by Perhelion broke the categorization system. Rename requests are no longer being categorized under Media requiring renaming. The syntax used by Perhelion is correct, but it only works in the absence of a {{{category}}} parameter. It doesn't work if an empty {{{category}}} parameter is passed on to the layout page. That's why an #if was being used instead. —capmo (talk) 03:42, 29 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Capmo: reverted, sorry and thanks for report. -- User: Perhelion 09:48, 29 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Centering diffs[edit]

@Perhelion, it looks like text of diffs from Template:TextDiff and Template:StringDiff become centered (example) after this edit. But before they were aligned to the left like in original templates. I don't have access to check. May you please correct. --sasha (krassotkin) 16:56, 12 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

New lines 40 and 41 have been changed from <center> to <div class="center">, and it seems that the former centered only direct children, while the CSS class’ text-align:center traverses to all descendants. I don’t know what’s the best solution; maybe separating the header and the diff itself, and only centering the former one. —Tacsipacsi (talk) 20:27, 12 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
In this case no center is needed, margin:auto should be sufficient. I've only a phone, so I won't do this risky edit yet. -- User: Perhelion 22:22, 12 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
✓ Done I removed the center fully, as the content is a block element with 100% width. -- User: Perhelion 23:20, 14 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
