Commons:Assuming worst case copyright and Commons:Do disrupt Commons to illustrate a point[edit]

Initially the pages "Commons:Assuming worst case copyright" and "Commons:Do disrupt Commons to illustrate a point" were nominated for deletion by T Cells after they were called "out of scope" Steinsplitter and were finally deleted by Jcb on 18 November 2018 (UTC) (please see "Commons:Deletion requests/Commons:Assuming worst case copyright" and "Commons:Deletion requests/Commons:Do disrupt Commons to illustrate a point"), there was another essay namely "Commons:Everipedia" which was nominated for deletion by Fæ which I do not wish to list here because although I would vouch for its inclusion the language in this essay was rather antagonistic towards the concerned third (3rd) party. The deletions were controversial and the reasons named for their nomination deletion could easily be disproven, however I should also establish why these pages actually are within the scope for them to be included and I will.

Both these essays were created by Alexis Jazz so could not be reasonably stated to be "Contrary to the claim of the page creator, the page does not contains the advice and/or opinions of one or more Commons contributors." which was a claim made by T Cells. However both of these pages are clearly within the scope of Wikimedia Commons, oftentimes (in fact all the time) we deal with copyright © issues and the whole thing that differentiates Wikimedia Commons from other websites is its licensing policy, for this reason people should be able to (in good faith) determine which files are and aren’t in the public domain based on their age, the essay "Assuming worst case copyright" clearly explains which measurements are to be used if the author (and/or the date of their death 💀) is not known, the essay also details exactly what the "worst case scenario" would be for every country depending on the potential year of death of the author. The essay "Do disrupt Commons to make a point" was criticised for (1) worshipping our colleague Slowking4 and (2) encouraging disruptive behaviour. Concerning the first point there is nothing wrong with worshipping Slowking4 because he is one of our top contributors with many high quality images to his name (Mobile 📱) and has consistently provided this platform with wonderful art and culture. Concerning the second point, I would have to state that one has to read through all the sarcasm to see that this essay in fact condemns disruptive behaviour but addresses the community's inability to deal with disruptive behaviour it condoned such as using a very restrictive free license (which sounds like an oxymoron but this essay also explains why the GFDL can be described as such). The latter essay also serves as an overview of the historical developments around the usage of the GFDL on Wikimedia Commons.

How I request undeletion is for is there is consensus to undelete them that an admin will first restore the pages "Commons:Assuming worst case copyright" and "Commons:Do disrupt Commons to illustrate a point", then move these to "User:Alexis Jazz/Assuming worst case copyright" and "User:Alexis Jazz/Do disrupt Commons to illustrate a point", and then delete the pages "Commons:Assuming worst case copyright " and "Commons:Do disrupt Commons to illustrate a point ", this way the editing history of those pages would be preserved for future attribution. --Donald Trung 『徵國單』 (No Fake News 💬) (WikiProject Numismatics 💴) (Articles 📚) 23:10, 25 February 2019 (UTC)

Yay or nay?[edit]

@Alexis Jazz: Would thy support me filling in this undeletion request? Would this convince anybody? --Donald Trung 『徵國單』 (No Fake News 💬) (WikiProject Numismatics 💴) (Articles 📚) 23:10, 25 February 2019 (UTC)

(No Fake News 💬) (WikiProject Numismatics 💴) (Articles 📚) 23:10, 25 February 2019 (UTC))

- Alexis Jazz ping plz 23:28, 25 February 2019 (UTC)
i would rather see essays over on meta and linked on commons. but would need an undelete to move it over. typical admin censoring of dissonant voices. like-minded is not worship; no one would say an apologist for Jcb worships him. and the mw:Talk pages consultation 2019 should take into account the deletion of talk by admins. Deletion request links: Commons:Deletion requests/Commons:Assuming worst case copyright and Commons:Deletion requests/Commons:Do disrupt Commons to illustrate a point

Initially the pages "Commons:Assuming worst case copyright" and "Commons:Do disrupt Commons to illustrate a point" were nominated for deletion by T Cells after they were called "out of scope" by Steinsplitter and were finally deleted by Jcb exactly 7 days later on 18 November 2018. These deletions were controversial. The reason used for their nomination "Contrary to the claim of the page creator, the page does not contains the advice and/or opinions of one or more Commons contributors.", a claim made by T Cells, could easily be disproven by the simple fact that both these essays were created by Alexis Jazz (difficult to argue Alexis is not a Commons contributor) and provided opinions and advice. Both of these pages deal with copyright issues on Wikimedia Commons which is a central theme of this website and both pages give a detailed insight into both the history and execution of certain copyright practices on Wikimedia Commons.

Is there consensus to undelete them where an admin will first restore the pages "Commons:Assuming worst case copyright" and "Commons:Do disrupt Commons to illustrate a point", then move them to "User:Alexis Jazz/Assuming worst case copyright" and "User:Alexis Jazz/Do disrupt Commons to illustrate a point", either with or without leaving a redirect? This way the editing history of those pages would be preserved. --Donald Trung 『徵國單』 (No Fake News 💬) (WikiProject Numismatics 💴) (Articles 📚) 07:19, 26 February 2019 (UTC)

Ja of nee?[edit]

--Donald Trung 『徵國單』 (No Fake News 💬) (WikiProject Numismatics 💴) (Articles 📚) 07:24, 26 February 2019 (UTC)

Beterschap. --Donald Trung 『徵國單』 (No Fake News 💬) (WikiProject Numismatics 💴) (Articles 📚) 07:53, 28 February 2019 (UTC)

--Donald Trung 『徵國單』 (No Fake News 💬) (WikiProject Numismatics 💴) (Articles 📚) 06:58, 29 June 2019 (UTC)

- Alexis Jazz ping plz 08:09, 29 June 2019 (UTC)
