Passive Margin
[edit]Zálan (2015) deals with the differences in passive margin basins in Brazil, presents a map prepared through the most recent data obtained through wells and seismic. In it, the volcanic basins are limited to the extreme south of the country. I request an update to the "Map showing the distribution of Earth's passive margins". Thanks.

- Hi @Senhor Kiwi! I'm sorry I haven't logged in for a while.
- Oh wow, that's really cool! It's been a long time since I made that map and I doubt I still have the source files (but I do remember saving them somewhere so that I could one day update this so I might). Regardless, it looks like I could probably do something even nicer anyway. It'll be a while till I get to this but I've added to my todo to create a new and updated map for this.
- If you (or anyone else who stumbles on this) know of other peer reviewed papers showing updated maps, please share them.
- When I get some time, I'll search the general internet for papers and put together a much better map of the worlds margins.
- I am unfortunately long out of academia so I no longer have access to papers behind paywalls. Hopefully there are reputable journals out there that are publishing things in an open fashion. Calandril (talk) 06:38, 6 January 2024 (UTC)
