Our first steps tour and our frequently asked questions will help you a lot after registration. They explain how to customize the interface (for example the language), how to upload files and our basic licensing policy (Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content). You don't need technical skills in order to contribute here. Be bold when contributing and assume good faith when interacting with others. This is a wiki. More information is available at the community portal. You may ask questions at the help desk, village pump or on IRC channel #wikimedia-commons (webchat). You can also contact an administrator on their talk page. If you have a specific copyright question, ask at the copyright village pump. |

OTRS
[edit]Sorry no one got hold of you sooner on this -- I think it's simply that no one noticed -- but it would be very helpful if you would send a clear permission for your three uploads as described at COM:OTRS. "OK for commons" is rather unclear, and suggests that you might not understand that the license you've granted allows reuse by absolutely anyone, including use in derivative works. Also, assuming that this account is from a representative of the museum, it would be very helpful to have an overt statement that the museum holds the relevant copyrights for the images (especially the line drawing): these rights would normally belong to the creator of the image, can only be conveyed in writing or equivalent (e.g. not orally), and you (the museum) can't grant a license unless those underlying rights that have already been transferred to you.
I'm assuming everything has been done in good faith, and I'm not going to start a deletion process, but really until you do the COM:OTRS stuff, anyone could at any time.
Thanks in advance for any followup. - Jmabel ! talk 05:54, 17 January 2017 (UTC)
