Good lord, that tree looks dead. Is it? Do you know what happened to it? Herostratus (talk) 19:40, 25 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

As far as whether it's still actually living, I'm not a botanist but I'm pretty sure it's dead. There might be some sprouts that form, but it's got a long way to go back to its' former glory. If you visit this link, there's a brief description of what happened. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clement_Oak
I was actually there about a month before a storm knocked it down, thanking the Lord it didn't happen while I was there! But it wasn't until over a year later did I revisit the tree on my lunch break, that I realized what happened. It was a shock for sure, as I turned the corner thinking this giant would still be there! Just goes to show the brevity of life, what was alive for over 500 years decimated in my lifetime, and within a month of visiting!
Unfortunately, the historical site has gone to ruins too, and the Walmart now lays shadow on the stump.
This is a good Bible verse to sum it up:
“Show me, Lord, my life’s end
and the number of my days;
let me know how fleeting my life is."
Psalm 39:4
God bless,
Jonathan
Some other good verses!
