Tan Sri Ravindran Menon

[edit]

Tan Sri Ravindran Menon is the Co-Founder and Executive Director of the ARA Group. Established in 1994, the group primarily develops integrated solutions in transport infrastructure. The group’s railway arm, HARTASUMA is the leading integrated rolling stock and rail services company in Malaysia.

Leveraging his vast experience in the rail sector and knowledge of land transportation systems, he ventured into aviation in 2007, forming the Skypark Group, which regenerated the old Subang Airport into the bustling Subang Skypark Terminal that it is today. His vision and foresight has turned this dormant asset into the highly successful Skypark terminal, which handles over three million passengers on commercial flights as well as private aviation movements.

The aviation hub also comprises the Skypark Regional Aviation Centre (RAC), which boasts state-of-the art hangarage facilities. Another component of the airport is the Skypark Business Aviation Centre that houses world-class Fixed Base Operations (FBO). The FBO handles a traffic of between 20 – 30 private jet movements per day. In 2011, he developed the Skypark Link rail line, the inter-city link connecting Subang to central Kuala Lumpur.

Tan Sri Menon sits on the Board of Governors of the Asian Business Aviation Association (AsBAA), a member of the International Business Aviation Council (IBAC). Tan Sri also previously served as a Senior Independent Director of PLUS Expressways Berhad, Malaysia’s largest highway concessionaire.

His philanthropic work, sees him involved in many charitable causes, amongst them are the All-Malaysia Malayalee Association (AMMA) and AMMA Foundation. He transformed AMMA Foundation into a self-sustaining organisation from a previously donor-dependant one by diligently securing a multi-million Ringgit grant from the Government of Malaysia.

In recognition of his exemplary leadership and outstanding service to the community, Tan Sri Menon was awarded the ‘Pravasi Bharatiya Samman’, the highest honour conferred by the Government of India on individuals of Indian origin residing overseas. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Muzammil Faridsham (talk • contribs) 08:02, 19 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
